St. Mary Board of Aldermen Meeting minutes released

ST. MARY – The draft minutes of the Thursday, January 11th, 2024 meeting of the St. Mary Board of Aldermen have been released.

 

  1. Be it Remembered: A regular meeting of the St. Mary Board of Aldermen was called to order by the Honorable Mayor Carlton Wyatt on Thursday, January 11th, 2024 beginning at 6:00 PM at City Hall located at 782 3rd Street, St. Mary, Missouri 63673.

 

  1. Pledge of Allegiance: The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. After the Pledge of Allegiance, Mayor Carlton Wyatt asked that we remain standing for a moment of silence for Bob Schultz, Dennis Bovey, Henry Coffman and Paul Franklin.

 

  1. Roll Call: Aldermen answering the roll call were Alderman Brenda Thompson, Alderman Kathy Bergmann, Alderman Dr. Zen Duda and Alderman Annette Hacker.

 

  1. Agenda: A motion was made by Alderman Annette Hacker to approve the agenda. Alderman Brenda Thompson seconded the motion. Alderman Kathy Bergmann, Alderman Brenda Thompson, Alderman Dr. Zen Duda and Alderman Annette Hacker voted yea on a voice vote. Motion carried.

 

  1. Consent Agenda: A motion was made by Alderman Annette Hacker to approve the Consent Agenda which consists of the following: Minutes from Previous Meeting, Treasurers Report, Collectors Report and Bills Paid and City Clerk to pay previously appropriated expenses as they come due as allowed by the budget. Alderman Brenda Thompson seconded the motion. Alderman Kathy Bergmann, Alderman Brenda Thompson, Alderman Dr. Zen Duda and Alderman Annette Hacker voted yea on a voice vote. Motion carried.

 

  1. Public Forum: No one signed up to speak.

  1. Department Reports:
  2. Emergency Management – Director April Grindstaff had nothing to report.
  3. Police Department – Police Chief Brendon Corbett could not make it to the meeting but sent a report via email City Clerk April Grindstaff read what he wrote- In December, I responded to       11 calls for service including harassment calls, traffic stops and ordinance violations. Since the           first of the year, I have been notified of two calls for service the Saint Genevieve Sheriff’s     Department had assisted on while I was not available.
  4. Fire Department – Alderman Kathy Bergmann gave the floor to Fire Chief Frankie Ullman. He reported that they replaced the strobe light and modular on 42. He is going to replace DC and AC light on 41 due to wiring. They are going to be ordering the material to finish the new meeting room at the fire house. He also stated that they had 2 calls this month. 1 was for a         medic call and the other one was for and assist on a structure fire with Saint Genevieve Fire      Department.
  5. Street Department – Alderman Dr. Zenon Duda stated the ditch on 2nd and Sycamore Street is cleaned out. Honorable Mayor Carlton Wyatt stated that we have had some equipment issues       the past few days. The tractors heat sensor went out but was replaced. The big spreader is down           at the moment but we got the smaller spreader up and running so we at least have a spreader, so         we can still spread cinders on the roads during inclement weather.
  6. Water / Wastewater Department – Alderman Annette Hacker gave the floor to Frankie Ullman. He reported that the water samples are still coming back good. He also suggested that the residents let their faucets drip with the freezing temps coming in the weekend. As for the          sewer side, things are going well. We had a few issues we need to go over. He has a few more    grinders going down. Some of the grinders the floats need to be replaced.
  7. Park / Cemetery / Animal Control – Alderman Brenda Thompson reported that she had nothing to report.
  8. Citizens Participation – No one raised their hand to speak.
  9. Regular Session Adjournment: There being no further business before the board, a motion was made by Alderman Dr Zen Duda to adjourn at 6:11 p.m. Alderman Annette Hacker seconded the motion. All the aldermen voted yea on a voice vote. Meeting adjourned.
