Paul A. Franklin

A graveside service has been held Paul A. Franklin, 76, of St. Mary died Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his home.

 

He was born August 17th, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to Felix “Bud” Franklin and Lorraine Burch Franklin.

 

He was the step-son of the late J. Maxine Franklin.

 

He is survived by two sons: Gary (Maria) Franklin of Godfrey, Illinois, and Damion Franklin of Festus, Missouri; four grandchildren: Amanda Everitt, Hunter Franklin, Hayden Franklin, and Chloe Franklin; and one great-granddaughter: Bryar Rose Everitt.

 

He is also survived by a brother: Robert (Elena) Franklin of Mountain View, California; two sisters, Denise (Dean) McFarland and Diana (Kim) Siebert of Festus, Missouri, and nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by one brother, James “Jim” Franklin, and two sisters, Jan (the late Frank) Politte and Cheryl Franklin.

 

He was retired from Monsanto Corporation and was a former member of the board of aldermen in St. Mary.

 

He served in the U. S. Army, was a Vietnam veteran and was a member of VFW Post 3777, Festus, Missouri. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals, as well as multiple qualification badges.

 

He loved and was loved by his family, his friends and neighbors, and his feline rescues. He is sorely missed.

 

Graveside services were conducted on January 10th at Kaskaskia Cemetery, Kaskaskia, Illinois.

 

Arrangements were under the direction of Basler Funeral Home, Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.
