A funeral will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 for 97-year-old Edna A. Moeller of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 6:34 pm, Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois.
She born June 8, 1926 in Baldwin, Illinois to John and Wilhelmina “Minnie” (nee Falkenhain) Tillock, who both preceded her in death.
Edna married Wilmer Moeller on June 23, 1946 in Baldwin, Illinois; he preceded her in death on May 14, 1982.
She is survived by two children: Gary (Peggy) Moeller of Red Bud, Illinois and Michael (Karen) Moeller of Red Bud, Illinois; a daughter-in-law: Virginia Moeller of Red Bud, Illinois; nine grandchilden: Matthew (Jennifer) Moeller, Christina (Mike) Gidley, Mark Moeller, Brian (Andrea) Moeller, Heather Moeller, Nicholas Moeller, Cassandra (Mike) Kloth, Melissa (Grant) Herzberger and Pamela (Lance) Wegener; 12 great grandchildren; Samantha (Kenny) Wilson, Cailyn Moeller, Grace and Corbin Moeller, Samatha and Allison Fry, Maliha and Gavin Kloth, Annisen and Nadia Herzberger and Kale and Attley Wegener; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son: Larry Moeller, eight siblings: Harold (Emma) Tillock, Edwin (Clara) Tillock, Lester (Carolyn) Tillock, Ruby (Wilbert) Koester, Lavern (Thomas) Deterding, an infant brother and an infant sister, and a long time friend: Greg Kalmer.
Edna had worked as a retail clerk at Dehne Grocery Store and Huebner Grocery Store in Baldwin, Illinois for 29 years.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois, American Legion Auxiliary in Baldwin, Illinois, and V.F.W. Auxiliary in Red Bud, Illinois. In her younger years, she was on the bowling league. She enjoyed cooking, tending to her flowers in the garden and attending auctions. Her greatest joy in the life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2024 at St. John Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois.
A funeral for 97-year-old Edna A. Moeller of Red Bud, Illinois will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 19, 2024 at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Bud, Illinois. The Rev. Mark Nebel and Rev. Brian Nowak will co-officiate.
Interment will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church Bell Choir.
