Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri kicks off 2024 Girl Scout Cookie Season

ST. LOUIS – Last Saturday, January 6, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri kicked off the 2024 Girl Scout Cookie Season, the annual program in which Girl Scouts unbox their future through the world’s largest entrepreneurial program for girls. This season, cookie lovers in our area can enjoy the full assortment of Girl Scout Cookie favorites, including Thin Mints®, Samoas®, Tagalongs®, Adventurefuls®, and more!

During this highly anticipated time of the year, girls flex their entrepreneurial muscles and acquire important life skills like money management, team building, public speaking and decision making. When a community member purchases their favorite cookies, they are fueling opportunities for girls to participate in amazing adventures like overnight camp, innovative programs, and community service projects.

“Girl Scouting helps girls develop unique skills to build a better future for themselves impact to the world – and the Girl Scout Cookie Program plays a tremendous role in making it all possible,” said Natissia Small, Ed.D., Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri CEO. “The net proceeds from cookie sales stay local, directly supporting our eastern Missouri council and troops. We use these proceeds to fund enriching activities and engaging experiences for girls year-round – like holistic programming, community service projects, outdoor adventures, professional development, and more.”

“The Girl Scout Cookie Program helps me see that I can do things I never thought that I could,” said Millie Hamilton, 8th grade Girl Scout. “The program has taught me so much about economics, sales, and customer service, and how to be comfortable meeting new people. I like talking with customers at our cookie booths!”

More than 13,000 Girl Scouts across eastern Missouri participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program each year, which provides vital girl-led entrepreneurial skills that build courage, confidence, and character. As a result, girls obtain limitless barrier-breaking futures with important and transferable life skills. Through the Cookie Season, Girls Scouts can also earn a variety of badges and awards to develop valuable business skills including Cookie Business badges, Financial Literacy badges, Cookie Entrepreneur Family pins and Entrepreneurship badges.
