Tony H. Ritter

A funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024 for 89-year-old Tony H Ritter Sr. of Ozora, Mo. who passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Ste. Genevieve Care Center in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.

 

He was born January 18, 1934 in New Offenburg, Mo., a son of Harry Ritter and Irma (Weiler) Ritter, who both preceded him in death.

 

He married Elizabeth (Carron) Ritter on October 30, 1965 who survives in Ozora.

 

He is also survived by five sons: Tony (Julie Hayden) Ritter of Ozora, Mo., Timothy (Sherri) Ritter of Ozora, Mo., Shane (Carrie) Ritter of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Edwin (Sharon) Loida of Bloomsdale, Mo., and Michael (Cindy) Loida of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; a daughter: Sharon (Bob) Reilly of St Louis, Mo.; three sisters: Julietta “Tootie” Flieg of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Shirley Kern of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Mary (Stanley) Hurst of Saint Mary, Mo.; grandchildren: Madi Henson, Carl Loida, Christian Loida, Rachael Loida, Samantha Loida, Megan (Blake) Carley, Annie Reilly, Matthew Reilly, Shelby (Brent) Roth, Luke Ritter, Jordan (Jordan) Clark, Madison (Colby) Smith, Ella Ritter, Alexis Ritter, Zackary Ritter; great grandchildren: Rylee Carley, Taylor Carley, Noah Roth, Eli Roth, and Lucille Clark.

 

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Burgert.

 

Tony was well known in the community, a Korean War Veteran serving on the USS Bradford, a member of Am. Legion 150, VFW 2210 & Sacred Heart Church in Ozora.

 

He was a devoted husband and grandfather.

 

Tony enjoyed farming and he worked at Mississippi Lime for over 20 years.

 

He enjoyed playing cards, was incredibly talented in fixing just about anything.

 

Tony loved spending time with his family and he will be missed by all who knew him.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo. and Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 8 a.m. till 9:45 a.m.

 

Service will be at Church of Ste. Genevieve on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 10 a.m.

 

The clergy will be Rev. Edward Nemeth and Rev. James Schaefer.

 

Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, MO with full military honors provided by VFW 2210.
