84-year-old Gordon “George” L. Holley of Chester, Ill., passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at his residence.
He was born March 1, 1939 in Chester, Ill., a son of Gordon V. and Rosann (nee Korando) Holley, who preceded him in death.
Gordon married Barbara A. (nee Hirte) Steele on December 31, 1976; she survives.
He is also survived by four children: Thomas (Terri) Holley, Darryl (Tina) Steele, Susan Holley
and Christine (Kenny) Goetz; six siblings: Patricia (Daniel) Bierman, Phyllis (Hardin) Troue, Mary “Carolyn” Kemp, Marilyn Kemp (Paul Fontana), Ronald Holley and Angela (Mark) Riester; an aunt:
Dorothy Korando; a sister-in-law: Connie Holley; two brothers-in-law: Charlie “Sonny” Hirte and Terry (Terri) Hirte; a close friend: Judy Hirte; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews,
He was also preceded in death by: a brother: Roger Holley; a son-in-law: Alan Coon and a brother-in-law: Ronald Kemp.
It was Gordon’s wish to be cremated and to be remembered as he was known, therefore no services or burial will be held as he wanted.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois.
