Aldermen reject Dollar General special use permit 6-0

PERRYVILLE — A proposal to build a new Dollar General store in Perryville has been denied.

The board of aldermen voted 6-0 at Tuesday’s meeting to deny a request for a special use permit to build the new store on the southeast corner of Kingshighway and Sutterer Place.

Opposition to the new store was voiced on social media as well as at a public hearing held at a previous board of aldermen meeting.

Those who filed the application for the special use permit were not in attendance at the meeting.
