Library hosts magical Christmas evening

STE. GENEVIEVE – On the magical evening of Friday, December 15th, the library doors swung open to a spectacle of wonder that captivated the hearts of over 400 attendees.

Breathtaking live reindeer and a snow machine set the stage for an experience beyond imagination. As

guests stepped into this winter wonderland, they were greeted with the sweet allure of cotton candy, the savory aroma of popcorn, and whispers of the ‘best hot cocoa ever’ that left taste buds tingling with delight.

But the magic extended far beyond the sensory delights – attendees were invited to unleash their

creativity, fashioning their own custom stockings, crafting ornaments, and penning heartfelt letters to

Santa. The joyous laughter of children echoed through the halls as they met the iconic duo, Santa and

Mrs. Claus, personally sharing their dreams and wishes.

Library Director Shawn Long expressed the staff’s unwavering commitment to providing the ultimate

Santa experience. “Our goal this year was to create the best Santa experience for our community, and

with the support of our Friends group, that dream became a magical reality,” Shawn emphasized.

The Friends of Ste. Genevieve County Library played a pivotal role, generously providing funding to bring two enchanting reindeer, Noelle and Joy, to the program, allowing attendees to forge a magical

connection with these majestic creatures. “Without the Friends, this program would not have been the

awe-inspiring spectacle it turned out to be,” Shawn acknowledged gratefully.

Heartfelt appreciation extends to Doodles Coffee for sponsoring the Whimsical Creations Face Painting

booth which was a huge hit, the Friends of Ste. Genevieve County Library for their sponsorship of the

reindeer and cotton candy, and their dedicated volunteers. A special thank you also goes out to the

Women’s Club of Ste. Genevieve for their invaluable volunteer support.

For those eager to dive into the enchantment of the Ste. Genevieve County Library or secure their own

library card, the doors are open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 21388 Hwy 32, Ste. Genevieve, MO.

Come, experience the magic that awaits within the walls of  our beloved library!”
