A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024 for 86-year-old Larry Wayne Hudson of Perryville, Mo. who passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at Southeast Hospital.
He was born March 4, 1937 in St. Louis, Mo. the son of Jos. Chalmer and Dora (Geile) Hudson who both preceded him in death.
Survivors include a son: Kenneth R. (Patty) Hudson of Perryville, Mo.; a daughter: Kim Hudson-Weinhold of Perryville, Mo.; two sisters: JoAnn Lane of Perryville, Mo. and Edna (Norman) Greene of Perryville, Mo.; three grandchildren: Aaron Hudson, Josh (Stephanie) Hudson, and Leslie (John) Weinhold-Stone; eight great-grandchildren: Bryce Hudson, Makayla Hudson, Kaitlynne Hudson, Reece Hudson, Cooper Hudson, Reagan Stone, Charlie Stone, and Sadie Stone; two great great-grandchildren: Rozlynn and Alfred Waggoner, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Roland Hudson; a sister: Juanita “Sis” Vernon; and a longtime partner: Shirley Balsman.
Larry worked for General Motors in St. Louis, Mo. for 32 years.
After retirement he purchased two dump trucks and enjoyed hauling rock and dirt.
He had a campground in Silver Lake that he loved and spent a lot of time there.
He also enjoyed riding around in his John Deere side by side, drawing, sketching and painting.
He was a 32nd degree Mason at the Bridgeton Masonic Temple Lodge No. 80 in Bridgeton, Mo.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

A memorial service will follow with Deacon Dierk Hunt officiating.
Burial will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Silver Lake, Mo.
