Ste. Genevieve man hurt in St. Louis County traffic crash

JEFFERSON CITY – A 56-year-old Ste. Genevieve man received minor injuries in a traffic crash on I-55 in St. Louis County Thursday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Albert R. Gonz was taken to Mercy Hospital South by the Mehlville Fire Protection District.

The patrol says Gonz was the driver of a northbound 2022 Ford F150 which was struck by a 2012 Hyundai Elantra which began to skid and spin and traveled into the lane the F150 was in, striking the pickup. After hitting the F150, the Elantra struck another vehicle, a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

The driver of the Elantra, 51-year-old Clarence S. Short of Mineral Point and the driver of the Silverado, Kyle A. Davis of Farmington, were not hurt. All three drivers were buckled up.

The crash happened about 4:32 a.m. south of Meramec Bottom Road.

The F150 was a total loss and was removed from the scene by Miners Towing.
