A private funeral mass will be held for 89-year-old Bernice M. Schuhmacher of Red Bud, Illinois, formerly of St. Louis, Missouri, who passed away at 10:51 pm, Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, Illinois.
She was born July 12, 1934 in Evansville, Ill. to Leo and Isabel (nee Pautler) Schuhmacher who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by a niece: Jeri Siegfried of Evansville, Ill.; a nephew: Jeff (Melissa) Siegfried of Evansville, Ill.; a great niece: Emma Siegfried; and three great nephews: Brandon Siegfried (Bailey Limestall), Jake Siegfried and Adam Siegfried.
She was also preceded in death by a sister: Alice Siegfried; a brother-in-law: Lloyd Siegfried, a niece: Jan Siegfried and two nephews: Joe and John Siegfried.
Bernice had worked as an Administrative Secretary for KPMG Auditing Firm until her retirement.
She was of Catholic Faith.
Bernice enjoyed going to shows at the Fabulous Fox Theater and the Muny.

Burial will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery.
