JEFFERSON CITY — A 73-year-old woman from Grand Tower, Ill. received minor injuries in a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County Wednesday afternoon.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Elizabeth L. O’Connor was taken to Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital by a Ste. Genevieve County ambulance.
The patrol says the crash happened when the 2004 Ford Explorer O’Connor was driving south on I-55 ran off the right side of the highway. O’Connor overcorrected and the Explorer then ran off the left side of the highway and struck the median cables.
The patrol says O’Connor was unrestrained.
The crash happened about 3:48 p.m. at the 140 mile marker.
The Explorer was a total loss and was removed by Ives.
