SAINT CHARLES, Mo. – The St. Louis Ambush visit the cross-state rival Kansas City Comets in a rare midweek match on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 7:05 p.m. CT at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence. St. Louis sits at 1-3-1 (wins-losses-overtime losses) on the season, while Kansas City enjoys a 4-1-0 record.
Thursday’s match is the sixth regular-season game for each team. It is also the second of six games scheduled between the Ambush and Comets during the regular season. The Comets won the first duel 7-2 at home on December 3. The two teams will also square off a second time this week when action shifts to The Family Arena in St. Charles for a New Year’s Eve matinee on December 31 at 2:05 p.m. CT.
In their most recent outing, the Ambush recorded their first win of the season when they defeated the Dallas Sidekicks 5-1 on December 17 at The Family Arena. The Comets are looking to bounce back from a 7-6 loss to the Texas Outlaws at home on December 17. The loss for the Comets was their first of the season.
For the Comets, Zach Reget is their most potent weapon on offense. Reget has six goals and four assists in his last three outings and ranks third in the MASL in points with 14. Midfielder Ignacio Flores has two goals and four assists in his last three games and defender John Sosa is the team’s leading playmaker with a total of six assists.
The December 31 home game also includes the annual New Year’s Eve Kids’ Bash highlighted by a post-game balloon drop on the field. All games are webcast at twitch.com.
