A memorial mass will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 for 91-year-old John Carl Fallert of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at his home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
He was born August 20, 1932 in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
He married Ruth (McClanahan) Fallert on November 5, 1960.
He is survived by his wife: Ruth Fallert of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; five daughters: Alta (Bruce) Tarter of Abilene, Tex., Darlene (Wayne) Winch of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Marlene (Jeff) Henslee of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., Kelly (David) Peterson of Farmington, Mo., Tania (Mike) Friedman of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; son: Jon (Dana) Fallert of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; sister: Vera Suennen of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; two brothers: Herbert Fallert and Robert Fallert; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; amd many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: Frank Fallert; mother: Cora Fallert; two sisters: Helen Naeger and Dorothy Gegg; two brothers: Richard Fallert and Gerald Fallert; and a brother in infancy, Baby Arthur.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a former member of Knights of Columbus.
John’s love for his wife, family and God is immeasurable.
He loved playing cards, making kettle corn, and tapping trees for making maple syrup.
John helped start the farmers market in Ste Genevieve and participated in Heritage Day.
He enjoyed afternoon car rides with his wife and visiting Amish communities. John enjoyed the Amish way of living with the horse and buggy and will be remembered for giving winter sleigh rides.
His grandchildren will never forget Grandpa telling the same jokes a hundred times.
The family will have a Memorial Mass for 91-year-old John Carl Fallert of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. at 10 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward Nemeth and Rev. James Schaefer will officiate.
