STE. GENEVIEVE — Filing began Tuesday for the April 2, 2024 municipal and school election.
Two candidates filed Tuesday, both incumbents: Bob Donovan in Ward 2 and Joe Prince in Ward 4.
There are five seats on the board of aldermen which will be on the ballot:
Two seats in Ward One: one of the seats, presently held by Kristi Cleghorn, will be for two years and the other seat, now held by Patrick Fahey will be for one year.
One seat in Ward Two for a two year term. Donovan is the present officeholder.
One seat in Ward Three for a two-year term. Jeff Eydmann is the current officeholder.
One seat in Ward Four for a two-year term. Prince is the current officeholder.
Filing for the municipal election is taking place in the temporary city hall at 44 Plaza Drive during normal business hours, except for holidays. Filing ends Dec. 26.
The current terms of two Ste. Genevieve R-II board members: David Bova and Geralyn Diesel will expire in April 2024, leaving two positions available, each with a three-year term as director on the Ste. Genevieve County R-II Board of Education.
Both of the incumbents filed for re-election Tuesday.
Filing for the school board will take place in the school district office at 375 North Fifth Street during normal business hours except for holidays.
Filing ends Dec. 26.
