  1. Roll call: Board members answering the roll call were Dr. Matthew Bosner, James Brochtrup and Robert Bach constituting a quorum.  Jennifer Mueller, the health department administrator, was also present.

  1. Approval of Agenda: James Brochtrup moved to approve the agenda, which motion was seconded by Dr. Mathew Bosner and then passed unanimously by the vote of all members present.

  1. Consent Agenda: James Brochtrup moved to approve the Consent agenda, which motion was seconded by Dr. Mathew Bosner and then passed unanimously by the vote of all members present.

  1. Director’s report: The Director’s report included the following:

Covid and Flu:          Ms. Mueller indicated there were approximately 46 confirmed Covid cases.  This is about half of last month’s total.  There are two Flu A cases so far this month. Covid vaccine has been slow to reach our county but, even though shipments are small, they may prove to be frequent. Doses delivered however do not necessarily match doses ordered.

Flu Vaccine:   The drive-through clinic went very well with at least 100-plus flu inoculations being administered. Further, all business and school flu clinics have been successfully concluded.

RSV Vaccine: Ms. Mueller indicated RSV vaccine is on-hand and available to those wanting it. It comes with a disclaimer; people should consult their primary health care practitioner before contemplating getting the RSV vaccine. Some primary health care practitioners may suggest not receiving the RSV vaccine for a number of reasons.

  1. Old Business: None

  1. New Business:

CD Maturity:  After brief discussion of the maturing of CD 352925, with Bloomsdale Bank, James Brochtrup moved to rollover the instrument with Bloomsdale Bank for one year for an interest rate of 5.35%.  Dr. Matthew Bosner seconded the motion which passed unanimously by the vote of all members present.

Cochran / Brian Gentges:  Mr. Gentges was presented with a bevy of questions that related to the projected remodel of the health department. His organization, Cochran Architectural & Engineering, was the successful candidate for proposed renovation of the health department and a few questions weighed on the minds of several board members. Mr. Gentges was successful in his response and will return at the November meeting with additional information. A proposal will be received by Mrs. Mueller by Friday of this week with its potential signing by the chairman of the health board.

  1. Public Forum: No member of the public being present, no public forum was held.
