Sen. Terri Bryant reacts to Governor’s plan to reallocate taxpayer dollars for Chicago’s migrant problem

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Senator Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) has released the following statement in response to the news that the Governor is reallocating $160 million from the Illinois Department of Human Services to help assist Chicago with its ongoing migrant issue:

“Each year we hear how our state doesn’t have enough funding to properly take care of our state’s children within DCFS, veterans, or homeless. Yet, the Governor dares to announce that the Department of Human Services has $160 million that he can just give away to noncitizen,” Bryan stated. “The Governor’s decision to take away taxpayer funding meant for Illinoisans is completely and utterly unacceptable.”
