A funeral will be held Tuesday for 76-year-old Ruth Ellen Hapgood of Frohna who passed away November 13, 2023 at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born October 27, 1947 in St. Louis, Mo. to Halley and Dorothy (Tucker) Reed who both preceded her in death.
She married William H. Hapgood September 21, 1973 in Chester, Il. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2010.
Survivors include two sons, William H. Hapgood, Jr. of Frohna, MO, John Hapgood of Perryville, MO; two daughters, Mary Hapgood of Frohna, MO, Donna Vanesler of Godfrey, IL.; three brothers, Charles (Rhonda) Reed of Lake Wappapello, MO, George (Helen) Reed of Crosstown, MO, Ervin (Josita) Reed of Paragould, AR; sister, Donna (Dave) Blechle of Lithium, MO; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Walter Reed.
Ruth Ellen was a homemaker.
She was of the Baptist Faith.
She loved quilting, fishing, watching her grand babies, playing scratch off lottery tickets and was loved by many.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 8-10 a.m. Tuesday at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral Service for 76-year-old Ruth Ellen Hapgood of Frohna will be held Tuesday at 10 am at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Rev. Dennis Cebulak officiating.
Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, IL.
Memorial contributions may be given to First Apostolic Pentecostal Church.
