Jane Denise Roth, 65, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.
Jane was born on May 23, 1958 to Edgar and Betty Roth of Holyrood, Kansas. Six weeks after she was born the family moved to Woodworth, Illinois where Jane grew up attending St. Paul’s Lutheran School.
Jane was confirmed in her faith in 1972 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Woodworth. She later attended Milford Township High School until the family moved to Steeleville, IL.
Jane graduated from Steeleville High School in 1977. Jane lived in Columbia, IL for several years working at the sheltered workshop in Red Bud. She participated numerous times in the Special Olympics and was an avid bowler. Jane and her brother Randall moved to St. Louis in 1988. Jane began working at Lighthouse for the Blind in 1988 and continued working there for 35 years.
Jane is survived by her sister, Lynette (Robert) Biesendorfer of Marthasville, MO, her brothers Royal of Mobile, AL and Randall of St. Louis, MO her niece, Julee from St. Louis and nephew Tim from Seattle and one grand nephew, Ethan from Seattle.
Jane is preceded in death by her sister, Roxane, and her parents, Edgar and Betty Roth.
Jane loved listening to the Cardinals baseball games, bowling, talking on the phone with her friends, and playing with any dog she meets. Jane was a cheerful and kind-hearted person who will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville with Rev. Matthew Marks Offciating.
Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Woodworth, IL, St. Mark’s Lutheran School in Steeleville, IL, or Immanuel Lutheran School in Perryville, MO.
