A funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023 for 74-year-old Lawrence “Larry” William Kiefer of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Monday, November 6, 2023 at his residence.
He was born October 22, 1949 in Perry County, Mo. to Leo Vincent and Lorene E. (Favier) Kiefer.
He and Celesta Yamnitz were married November 27, 1971 in Perryville, Mo. She survives in Perryville, Mo..
Survivors include two sons, Simon (Paula) Kiefer of Texas, Jason (Angela) Kiefer of Perryville, MO; two daughters, Pamela (Larry), Elizabeth Kiefer of Perryville, MO; three brothers, Dale (Brenda) Kiefer of Georgia, Leo “Andy” (Doris) Kiefer of St. Louis, MO, Bill (Mary) Kiefer of Perryville, MO; five sisters, Leola Hayes of House Springs, MO, Evelyn Brewster of St. Mary, MO, Glenda (John) Schumer of St. Mary, MO, Linda Sue (Tom) Hoff of Perryville, MO, Mary Ann Abernathy of St. Louis, MO; six grandchildren, Isabel, Lauren, Katelyn, Christopher, Vivienne, Silas; and one great-granddaughter, Camila.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dan and James Kiefer; sister, Joyce Hayes.
Lawrence served in the U.S. Army.
Lawrence was a farmer and owner of Lawrence Kiefer Construction. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, American Legion Post #133 and Missouri Farm Bureau. He loved his family especially his grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 10, 2023 and from 8:00 am to 9:30 am on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday, November 11, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Ben Melaku C.M. officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Crown Hospice.
