St. Mary woman hurt in I-55 traffic crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A 58-year-old St. Mary woman was hurt in a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County Monday evening.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Robin S. Halbert was taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by a Ste. Genevieve County ambulance.

 

The patrol says the accident happened when the southbound 2006 Dodge Stratus Halbert was driving was struck in the rear by a 2020 Peterbilt driven by 59-year-old Stephen V Haggard of Marble Hill. After the initial impact, the Stratus traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck the median cable barrier.

 

The patrol says Halbert was not buckled up, while the driver of the Peterbilt was buckled up and was not hurt.

 

The Stratus received extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Ste. Genevieve County Towing. The Peterbilt had minor damage and was driven from the scene.

 

The crash happened about 6:52 p.m. at mile marker 161.
