SGHS clubs and organizations organize trick or treat for canned goods

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve High School clubs and organizations held a Trick or Treat for Canned Goods Drive on Oct. 25.

Approximately 70 students representing eight organizations went around town in costumes to collect canned goods for local food pantries.

By the end of the evening, students collected an estimated 500 pounds of canned goods from community members.

Our schools recognize the important purpose of our local food pantries, and our schools hold numerous food drives and fundraisers year-round to help keep the pantries stocked.

The following groups participated, including Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Student Council, FRIENDS Club, Theatre, National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), Future Farmers of America (FFA), and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD).

“We want to thank all of those community members who graciously donated for this cause,” a school official stated in a news release.
