STE. GENEVIEVE – Art lovers will find lots to do during the October 27 4th Friday Art Walk, including fine art, music and Halloween surprises from 6-9 p.m. in Ste. Genevieve’s historic downtown district.
The Sainte Genevieve Art Center on the courthose square is offering visitors an opportunity to make an origami spider on a web thread with Art Guild instructor Peggy Bay. Work by Guild artists will be on display along with information about the Guild’s upcoming December holiday art show.
Music Art Love in the 100 block of N. Main will be open during the Walk, featuring artists Joyce Pierson and Dianne Dickerson and live music by David Cattani. Cattani has performed widely in the Midwest, East Coast and Mountain West.
In the same block E•KleK•Tix Gallery & Studio will feature artist J Rissover’s collection of paintings and celebrate Halloween plus a landmark for the artist marking the sale of 1,000 paintings since she began painting in 2011.
Brix Urban Winery on Merchant Street is hosting a book signing event for author Barbara Sontheimer, whose sweeping historical romance “Victor’s Blessing” tells the story of a journey from Ste. Genevieve to the patent office of Washington DC, to the infamous Andersonville prison, and the Battle of Wilderness. Plus. the winery’s warm mulled wine on the menu.
Only Child Originals and Rust on North Main, will be open for the Art Walk, along with Silver Sycamore Gallery at Market and Third Streets.
Other venues may also be open in the downtown district. Most Art Walk activities are free and open to everyone.
