Sandra Howard, 79, of Ellis Grove, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023 in Happy Valley, Oregon, surrounded by her family.
Sandra Helen Estell was born to George and Helen Estell on January 4, 1944, in Homestead, Florida where she was raised.
She met her husband, Charles Howard, Jr., while attending Arkansas State University. The couple married in 1964 in Imboden, Arkansas and settled for a brief time in the area. They soon began building a family and had two children together, William and Catherine. The family relocated to Ellis Grove in 1978 and called it home until Sandy’s move to Oregon in July of this year.
Sandy loved things that challenged her like working puzzles, reading detective novels, and playing cards and board games. She was independent, smart, quick-witted, and hard-working. But, she will be remembered most for her warm smile, comforting hugs, and devotion to her family.
