STE. GENEVIEVE – Recently, Ste. Genevieve Elementary School preschool students learned about fire prevention and firefighters’ work.

Elliot Wehner (from left), Rylee Wolk, Jayden Pfeiffer, Renley Minx, Bella Evans, Emersyn Jokerst, Amelia Kingery, Thomas Womack, Bryce Herzog, Aiden Schierhoff, Anna Eads, Alan Schilli, Adeline Schmelzle, Brennen Langeneckert, Elijah Kingery, Riley Repple, Axle Davis, Athena Flieg, Skylar Boyd, Parker Hollars, Clint Donze, Dani Davault and Riley Hughes.

Sarah Carlson and Alan Schilli from the Ozora Fire Department visited the Preschool and Early Childhood Center to read a story and discuss ways the children could stay safe if they were ever in a burning building or house.

The students enjoyed seeing and learning about the different tools and equipment found on the truck. Alan dressed in his gear to show the students what firefighters look like if they have to go into a house to rescue someone and to fight fires.

A school district official thanked the Ozora Fire Department for always providing our preschoolers with a fire prevention program.
