Kathleen Kay Hight

Kathleen Kay Hight of Farmington passed away October 10, 2023 at the age of 79.

 

She was born in Flint, Michigan on March 31, 1944 to the late Clyde Edward Looney and Rosa Voneatta (Patterson) Looney.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Hight in 2012.

 

She graduated from Ste. Genevieve High School and went on to attend nursing school in Bakersfield, California.

 

In California she met the love of her life, Bruce and in 1964 they were married.

 

Kathleen went on to get her masters degree from SEMO in Cape Girardeau in business administration.

 

When Farmington’s Parkland Hospital opened in 1969, Kathleen began working there. After forty years at Parkland she retired as the Assistant Administrator of Patient Care Services. During her career she became an advocate of the Women’s Shelter in Bonne Terre and she, in fact, financed the building of it on her own.

 

Kathleen is survived by her son, Travis Hight; her granddaughter, Hannah Hight; sisters, Margie (David) Missey and Emily Rose (Arnold) Burr; several nieces and nephews; her beloved daughter-in-law, Tinisha Renea and special friend, Elsie Stroud.
