STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve sales tax receipts fell $1,300 in September, but the receipts for the first nine months of 2023 were up nearly $40,000.
The Missouri Department of Revenue transferred September receipts to the city October 5th.
The city’s one percent general sales tax brought in $61,253.85, bringing the receipts for 2023 to $632,615.00. The September receipts are down $1,305.87 from September 2022. The total for the first nine months of 2023 is up $39,896.76.
The city’s two half-cent sales taxes, mass transportation and capital improvements, were each up about $1,018 in September, bringing the total for the first nine months of the year to $298,393.29, an increase of $24,087 over the first nine months of 2022.
The city’s consolidated city use tax brought in $23,883.31 in September 2023, up $13,107.90 over September 2022. So far this calendar year, the tax raised $192,378.58, which is an increase of $27,731.84 from the first nine months of 2022.
