JEFFERSON CITY – A 20-year-old Perryville man has died following a traffic crash Saturday evening on Route N in Perry County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report states Jesse W. Robinson was a passenger on a 2023 Honda Talon which ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a fence and overturned. He was taken to SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital by an Air Evac helicopter and notification of his passing came at 9:22 p.m.
The operator of the Talon, 20-year-old Evan Mezo of Perryville, received minor injuries and was taken to Perry County Memorial Hospital by Perry County ambulance. He was later taken to the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, and was cited by the patrol for being a visibly intoxicated minor and released.
The patrol says Mezo was using a safety device, while Robinson was not.
The Honda Talon is a side-by-side UTV. It received moderate damage and was removed from the scene by Perry County Towing.
The crash happened about 7 p.m. east of Perry County Road 819.
