PERRYVILLE – Sales tax receipts in Perryville so far this year are down nearly $16,000 compared to the same period last year.
The Missouri Department of Revenue transferred the proceeds of the August one percent sales tax receipts to the city September 5th.
So far this calendar year, the one percent sales tax has brought in just over $1.41 million, while in 2022 the tax brought in just over $1.43 million.
The August 2023 receipts were $178,229 which is down from the August 2022 receipts of $207,017 according to the Missouri Department of Revenue.
The city’s two other general sales tax receipts were also down.
However, Perryville’s consolidated city use tax did show an increase between August 2022 and August 2023 – the tax brought in $41,841, an increase of $10,465. So far this calendar year, the city use tax has brought in $407,536 which is an increase of $60,581 from the same period last year.
