Ste. Genevieve September Art Walk includes plein air painting event 

STE, GENEVIEVE – Visitors to historic Ste. Genevieve’s September 4th Friday Art Walk will find local artists painting on sidewalks along the downtown Art Walk route and art on display in locations throughout the historic district. The Art Walk takes place from 6 to 9 pm.

 

 

Artists will be painting “en plein air” along the Art Walk route beginning at 5pm. Their works will be on display at Silver Sycamore Gallery beginning at 8pm when judging will take place and a Purchase Award prize will be announced. The gallery is sponsoring the timed painting event which is designed to “capture the vibe of the 4th Friday Art Walk.” 

 

On North Main Street Music Art Love will have two featured artists Junie Ewing and Chanda Yvonne, along with live music by Angelina Pirolo.

 

E•KleK•Tix, also on North Main, pays tribute to the town’s French colonial history with a collection of paintings by Jean Rissover.

 

Brix Winery on Merchant is inviting anyone over 21 to help  decorate for Halloween, carving pumpkins (limited number available), and enjoying $1 off on the featured Fall cocktail (adults only.)

 

 

Other art spaces that will be open include the Ste. Genevieve Art Guild on the courthouse square, featuring the group’s current member show, as well as Rust, Masquerade and Only Child Originals in the North Main Street Art & Entertainment District.

 

Other venues may also be open in the downtown district. Most Art Walk activities are free and open to everyone.
