Camryn Luthy earns Medalist Honors

CHESTER – The Chester High School Lady YellowJackets Golf Team won a dual match Tuesday September 5 at the Chester Country Club Golf Course. Sparta was the opponent and fell to Chester, 199 to 242.
Chester’s Camryn Luthy, a senior golfer, was the Medalist in the match against Sparta Tuesday September 5 at the Chester Country Club. Luthy has been medalist in several matches this early season and shot a 39 against the Lady Bulldogs to earn her most recent Medalist honor. Her score also helped the Jackets win the match 199-242. The Lady Jackets were led by senior Camryn Luthy who shot 39 for the 9-hole match. Not only did she led her CHS team, Luthy also led the entire field of golfers to earn Medalist Honors.
CHS golfer Macy Bert, was the Lady Jacket’s No. 2 golfer in the win over Sparta Tuesday September 5 at the Chester Country Club. Bert shot 49 in the victory and helped her team win, 199-242 over the Lady Bulldogs. Jim Beers Photo
Other Lady Jacket players who contributed to the victory included Macy Bert who shot 49, Rylie Conley who shot 55, Rylie Myers and Addy Gottschammer each who shot 56 for the team, and Riley Lochhead who had a performance just one stroke behind Gottschammer and Myers with her game of 57.
Sparta was led by Dethrow who shot 51. The Lady Bulldog’s No. 2 golfer was Stine who shot 59. No. 3 golfer was Zweigart. Her score was 64. Rounding out the Sparta lineup was Braun who shot 68 to give the Lady Bulldogs their team score of 242.
The Lady Jackets will travel to Okawville today to compete in the Okawville Girls Golf Invite. The bus departs from CHS at 11:00 a.m. and tee-off is 1:00 p.m.
