A funeral was held Monday, September 4, 2023 for 86-year-old Alvin H. Wunderlich of Ellis Grove, Ill. who passed away at 7:55 pm, Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.
He was born August 11, 1937 in Ellis Grove, Ill. son of the late Harold F. and Clementine (nee Bleem) Wunderlich who both preceded him in death.
Alvin married Cleada Emerson August 2, 1955
He is survived by three nephews: Gary (Sandy) Walls of Evansville, Ill., Tim (Sharon) Walls of Chester and Danny Walls Chester; and a brother-in-law: Jerry Walls of Ellis Grove, Ill.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Shari Lynn Wunderlich and a sister: Rose Ann Walls.
He had worked at the shoe factory in Evansville and was a laborer.
Alvin was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, Illinois.
He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.
Alvin enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting, especially elk hunting.
He was a United States Army veteran.
Visitation will be 9-10:45 a.m. Monday at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Evansville.
A funeral mass for 86-year-old Alvin H. Wunderlich of Ellis Grove, Ill. was held at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville. Officiating were: Father Iuvenis Iheme and Father Jerry Bleem.
Interment was in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Evansville.
