A funeral will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 for 65-year-old Janet L. Cornelius of Perryville, Mo., who passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Independence Care Center.
She was born May 13, 1958 in Hayti, Mo. to Ale and Betty (Croy) Cato, who both preceded her in death.
Janet and Lee Cornelius were married November 4, 1978. He survives in Perryville.
Survivors include a daughter: Emily (William) Blyzes of Perryville, Mo.; a son: Matthew Cornelius of Perryville, Mo.; three sisters: Pamela (Tommy) Horton of Dexter, Mo., Sandra Cato of Dexter, Mo., and Amy (Greg) Reynolds of McClure, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
She was a secretary at Dumey Contracting in Benton, Ill.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Visitation will continue 8-10 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
A funeral for 65-year-old Janet L. Cornelius of Perryville, Mo., will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, Mo., with Pastor Joseph Schlie officiating.
Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to Stoddard County Children’s Home Memorial Tribute Fund or LCMS World Relief and Human Care – The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
