Roger D. Holley

A memorial service will be held Friday for 82-year-old Roger D. Holley of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 12:44 pm, Monday, August 7, 2023 at his residence.

 
He was born September 2, 1940 in Chester, son of Gordon and Rosann (nee Korando) Holley who both preceded him in death.


Roger married Constance “Connie” Pautler December 30, 1961 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Evansville, Illinois. She survives in Chester.


He is also survived by foru children: Elizabeth (Charles) Johnson of Waterloo, Ill., Charlotte (Alfred) Johnson of Chester, Ill., Lucinda (Lloyd) Rodewald of Schuline, Ill. and Richard (Cherri) Holley of Chester, Ill.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly; seven siblings:  Gordon “George” (Barb) Holley of Chester, Ill., Patricia (Daniel) Bierman of Walsh, Ill., Phyllis (Hardin) Troue of Indianapolis, Ind., Mary “Carolyn” Kemp of Steeleville, Ill., Marilyn Kemp (Paul Fontana) of Steeleville, Ill., Ronald Holley of Chester, Ill., and Angela (Mark) Riester of Chester, Ill.; a brother-in-law: Norman Pautler of Columbia, Ill.; a sister-in-law: Margaret Pautler of Red Bud, Ill.; an aunt: Dorothy Korando of Chester, Ill. and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

He was a retired tool and die maker from Boeing in St. Louis and a member of the Aerospace District No. 837.

 

Roger and Connie enjoyed life on their farm, traveling and having family gatherings quite often. You could always find Roger under the shade tree in the back yard.


Roger was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester.

 

He was also a member of the Chester Boat Club, Chester Moose Lodge No. 1764 and Chester Eagles Club Aerie No. 3252.

 

He was also preceded in death by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

 

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Chester, Illinois.
