Police report drug arrest

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve police have arrested a 38-year-old woman after allegedly finding 19 Fentanyl capsules and eight-tenths of a gram of methamphetamine in the vehicle she was driving after a traffic stop for invalid license plate.

Police Chief Jasen Crump says it happened about 1 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

During the stop, officers requested assistance from the Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff’s Office with their K9. After receiving an “alert” from the K9 for the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, a search of the vehicle was conducted, which turned up the Fentanyl and methamphetamine. Officers also located a digital scale.

This case has been forwarded to the Ste. Genevieve County prosecuting attorney for formal charges.
