Victor “Bus” Randall Thomas of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on August 4, 2023, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 96.
He was born August 2, 1927, in Knob Lick, Missouri, to the late Hubert Norman and Emily Elizabeth (Schalk) Thomas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Williams) Thomas, and his eleven siblings, Richard Thomas, Mary “Peg” Logan, Clara O’Bannon, Hubert Thomas Jr., Virginia “Gen” Edwards, Martha (Roger) Nekola, Mildrid “Millie” Burch, Tilford Thomas, Martin Thomas, Essie Parrott, and Marion Thomas.
Bus is survived by his four daughters, Susan Thomas of Festus, Kathryn May of Park Hills, Ann Thomas of Farmington, and Jane (Dave) Grass of Ste. Genevieve, five grandchildren, Matthew (Kaylee) May, Diana “Niki” Thomas, Krista (Eric) Southerland, Clint (Ashley) Barber, and Alex Grass, nine great grandchildren, Christian Dean, Parker Dean, Lukas Kimbrell, Madelyn May, Brogan Barber, Ryder May, Helena Barber, Fisher Barber, and Brewer May, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bus proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He worked for the United States Postal Service as a local mail carrier and retired after 31 years of service.
He loved the outdoors, bowling, hunting, fishing, and was a walking enthusiast.
He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel.
As a final act of kindness, Bus graciously donated his body to science to further medical research.
