A funeral will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 for 85-year-old Shirley Ann Hartmann of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 11:55 pm, Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.
She was born to the late Elmer and Lydia (nee Schmidt) Kueker on August 13, 1937 in Red Bud, Illinois.
Shirley married Donald Hartmann on August 3, 1957 in St. John Lutheran Church in Baldwin, Illinois; he survives.
She is also survived by two children: Kevin (Chris) Hartmann of St. Louis, Mo. and Keith (Kelly) Hartmann of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; four grandchildren: Erica Fehr, Abby (Greg) Hawks, Brady (Rachel) Hartmann and Andrew (Caitlyn) Hartmann; two great grandchildren: Jordan and Ava
and her beloved cat: Jack.
She was also preceded in death by his in-laws.
She spent many years working at the Ben Franklin Stores in Red Bud and Chester.
She then went on to become a successful Home Interiors Sales Consultant.
Shirley was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois.
Shirley and Don retired from their jobs in 2010 and spent their time traveling and enjoying their children, grandchildren and most recently, their two Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Pechacek Funeral Homes of Chester, Illinois and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois.
