Alfred Wilfong

Alfred “Gale” Wilfong, of Ste. Genevieve, entered into eternal rest on August 2, 2023, at Southbrook Nursing Center at the age of 85. He was born January 25, 1938, in Farmington, Missouri, to the late Albert A. and Eva (Baker) Wilfong. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lawrence Wilfong, Lloyd Wilfong, Leeman Wilfong, Thomas Wilfong, Alvin Wilfong, (his twin) Albert Wilfong, Edna “Ruth” Cartee, and Ruby Barnes.


Gale is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce (Heberlie) Wilfong, his sons, Terry Wilfong of Ann Arbor, MI and Gary (Melissa) Wilfong of Maryland Heights, MO, his grandchildren, Emily Wilfong, Olivia Wilfong, Jacob Wilfong, Daniel Wilfong, Gracie Wilfong, and Nathan Wilfong, his siblings, Vernon (Lee Ann) Wilfong of Park Hills, MO and Mary (Paul) Moonier of Cape Girardeau, MO, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.


Gale proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for McDonnell Douglas for many years then as a carpenter in residential construction. He was a gun buff and enjoyed gun shows and hunting. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
