Timeline of CEC reports:

“5:30 p.m., Saturday, July 29: Storms have caused over 3,000 members to be without electric across the Citizens Electric territory. Crews are working against several challenges including fallen trees, and muddy terrain. Please bear with us as we work as quickly and safely in these conditions.

“6:30 p.m., Saturday, July 29: Crews are patrolling to determine the extent of the damage to infrastructure across the system. An outside contractor has been called in to assist in restoration efforts.

“9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 29: We are currently at around 700 members without power. So far we are just working around a lot of tree limb damage. We’ll be working late and barring any setback like finding more broken poles or other extensive damage. We’ll have everyone on that can accept power by morning. A few members may need to contact a professional electrician for private repairs before Citizens Electric can energize service to the home.”
