A memorial service will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 for 78-year-old Shirley L. Denton of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 9:25 p.m., Monday, July 17, 2023 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.
She was born to the late Leo and Theda (nee DeRousse) Weber on June 16, 1945 in Praire du Rocher, Illinois.
Shirley married Jimmie Denton on October 5, 1980; he preceded her in death on November 1, 1997.
She is survived by her companion: Freddie Res of Chester, Ill.; a daughter: Vicky Schwankhaus of Red Bud, Ill.; two sons: Steven Res of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Scott Res of the state of Tennessee; four grandchildren: Chris (Jessica) Linnertz, Austin (Lindsay) Schwankhaus, Kelly (Nick) Thielmann and Jon (Jennifer) Farah; four great grandchildren: Anna Schwankhaus, Tatum Schwankhaus, Eleanor Thielmann and Thomas Farah; her sweet dog: Annabelle; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by: parents, grandparents, husband, a daughter:Rhonda Farah and two sisters: Judith Alesaski and Susan Schultz.
She had worked as a coordinator aide for the Bronson Center in Centralia, Ill. for seven years.
Shirley was of Catholic Faith.
She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, gardening, mowing lawn and anything outdoors.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m..Friday, July 28, 2023 at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Ill.
