Ronald Estess “Mac” McDaniel, 86, of De Soto died July 14, 2023, in St. Louis.
Mr. McDaniel was a 1955 graduate of Ste. Genevieve High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of De Soto Amvets Post 48.
He worked as a sheet metal worker with Local Union 36 for many years before retirement.
He enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball, watching high school sports and spending time with family and friends.
Born Feb. 9, 1937, in Ste. Genevieve, he was the son of the late Clorabelle (Wilburn) and Otto McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his wife: Lucy (Valle) McDaniel.
He is survived by two brothers: Gary (Linda) McDaniel of Elk Rapids, Mich. and Terry (Regina) McDaniel of Ste. Genevieve; a sister: Donna (Tom) Corson of Deltona, Fla.; three nephews: Douglas (Loretta) McDaniel of Deland, Fla., Michael Estess (Rachel) McDaniel of Ste. Genevieve and Carl Dechow of Williamsburg, Mich.; two nieces: Katrina McDaniel of Ankeny, Iowa, and Cheryl (David) Brattley of Fleetwood, Penn.; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews: Allison, Megan, Ryan, Nikki, Mayson, Rosamund, Leighton, Rodney, Stephen and Christopher; the Portell Family; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Stanley McDaniel; a sister-in-law: Simone McDaniel; and a niece: Donna Lee McDaniel.
Visitation is scheduled from 9-10 a.m. Monday, July 24, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 N. Main St., in De Soto.
A graveside service will follow in the Peaceful Ridge Cemetery.
