Ste. Genevieve man escapes injury in a three-vehicle I-70 crash Thursday night

JEFFERSON CITY — A 24-year-old Ste. Genevieve man escaped injury in a three-vehicle traffic crash on I-70 in St. Louis County Thursday night.

 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report: Dalton G. Giesler of Ste. Genevieve was the driver of a 2014 Nissan Altima  which was stopped in traffic in a work zone when a 2015 Freightliner Metro Bus driven by 48-year-old Mitchell A. Margenres of East St. Louis who had a medical issue, struck a 2018 Grand Cherokee driven by 51-year-old Robert S. Gausphol of Wentzville and then hit Giesler’s Nissan.

 

Gausphol had minor injuries and was taken to SSM Health Depaul Hospital by the Berkeley Fire Department.

 

Giesler and the bus driver were uninjured.

 

Giesler’s Nissan had minor damage and was driven from the scene. The bus had extensive damage and the Grand Cherokee had moderate damage. Both were towed from the scene.

 

The crash happened about 9:43 p.m. east of Natural Bridge Road.

 

All three drivers were buckled up.
