A graveside service will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 for 69-year-old James Herbert Scott of Perryville, Mo. who passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Estates of Perryville.
He was born July 20, 1953 in St. Louis, Mo. to Herbert Carl and Anna May (Holschen) Scott who both preceded him in death.
Survivors include his brother: John (Dianna) Scott of Jackson, Mo.; a sister: Mary Ann Scott of St. Charles, Mo; a nephew: Cody Austin Scott; and six cousins: Joseph, Bill, Vikki, April, Nicholas, and Jasmine.
He was also preceded in death by the spouse of his beloved cousin: Judy Scott.
Jim served in the United States Army.
He was a member of Timber Ridge Church of Christ and the American Legion Post No. 133.
Jim worked as a janitor at Perryville High School and served as an equipment manager for the Perryville Pirate Football Team.
He would assist with many other sports and enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts of America.
Jim loved going to flea markets, helping on farms, mowing lawns and just staying active.
He was personable to anyone he met.
Jim was a fighter to the end and will be missed.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday July 7, 2023 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. with the Rev. Dan Steska officiating.
Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be given to family use or the Perryville Athletic Club.
