Bloomsdale resident hurt in Route Y traffic crash

JEFFERSON CITY — A Bloomsdale resident suffered moderate injuries in a traffic crash on Route Y in Ste. Genevieve County Monday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 53-year-old Tonya K. Grau was taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by a Ste. Genevieve County ambulance.

The patrol says Grau was the driver of a westbound 2014 Ford Escape which was struck by an eastbound 2017 Chevrolet Cruze when the driver of the Cruze, 41-year-old Joshua R. Heck of Arnold, attempted to avoid a tire in the roadway and his car skidded across the centerline and collided with the Escape. Heck was not injured. Both drivers were buckled up. Both of the vehicles had extensive damage.

The crash happened about 12:49 p.m. east of Dietzfelbinger Drive.
