Raymond F. Almasy, 80, of Sparta, Illinois, passed away at 6:10 am, Friday, June 9, 2023 at his residence.
He was born to the late Joseph C. and Evelyn Mary (nee Woods) Almasy on March 23, 1943 in Breese, Illinois.
Raymond married Sharon Husemann on January 31, 1969 at Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville, Illinois; she survives in Sparta.
He had worked at American Device in Steeleville, Illinois and then went to work for Zeiger Coal Mine until his retirement in 1997.
Raymond enjoyed being outside and working in his yard.
He is also survived by three Sisters: Barbara Otten of Chester, IL, Carol (Terry) Hartmann of Red Bud, IL and Sharon Dyke of Cape Girardeau, MO; two Brothers-in-law: Wayne (Paula) Husemann of Red Bud, IL and Jim Schlautman of Germantown, IL; a Sister-in-law: Ruby Russell of Steeleville, IL; a Special Family Friend: Kathy Liefer of Freeburg, IL and Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
He was preceded in death by: his Parents, a Son and aDaughter-in-law: Michael Raymond & Christine “Chris” Almasy; a Brother: James Almasy: a Sister: Penny Schlautman; his In-laws: Arthur and Bertha Husemann; four Brothers-in-law: David Otten, Kenneth Russell, Willard Krull and Henry Kahle and a Sister-in-law: Dolores Kahle.
It was Raymond’s wish to be cremated and a service will be held at a later date.
