Commission awards contracts for Southeast District Projects

SIKESTON – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded contracts for Southeast District projects during its regular meeting on June 7. Awarded contracts include pavement improvements, a bridge replacement, sidewalk improvements, and signage and traffic camera upgrades.

 

Contracts include the following:

 

A $7,086,940 contract was awarded to Penzel Construction Company, Inc., for replacing the Route 61 bridge over Hubble Creek, adding turn lanes at Route D and Mary Street and pavement improvements on Route 61 from north of the existing roundabout to Route D, including Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) sidewalk improvements in Cape Girardeau County through the city of Jackson, Missouri. The project award is contingent on additional funds from the city of Jackson.

 

A $1,227,622 contract was awarded to Hessling Construction, Inc., for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) sidewalk improvements in the following towns within the Southeast District:

Cabool in Texas County,

Marble Hill in Bollinger County, and;

Puxico in Stoddard County.

 

A $1,649,341 contract was awarded to Meyer Electric Company, Inc., for upgrades of dynamic message boards at various locations along Interstate 55, Interstate 57, and U.S. 60 in the Southeast District.
