CHESTER – Adults and kids of all ages joined Memorial Hospital and five other local businesses at a Community Fun Run/Walk on May 12 at the Chester Cohen Complex.
The event was organized by Memorial Hospital to encourage movement, exercise, and healthy living. The event was free for the 83 participants in attendance, with food pantry donations being collected.
Several non-perishable items along with over $200 was collected for the Chester Area Christian Food Pantry.
Participants enjoyed the sunshine as they strolled, or ran, along the paved path. Along the path, they were able to visit the local businesses’ tables to pick up some free goodies.
Those participating included, Ballpark Concessions, which provided refreshments, Buena Vista National Bank, Chester Eagles, Chester Public Library, Dieterich Bank, Square One Flooring and Memorial. Each participating business donated a fitness themed attendance prize, which was given away at the end of the event.
