JEFFERSON CITY — A three-year-old Ste. Genevieve girl suffered minor injuries in a traffic crash on Missouri Route P in St. Francois County Thursday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the child was taken to Parkland Hospital for treatment.
The patrol says the child was a passenger in a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by 33-year-old Serena N. Akins of Ste. Genevieve, which was traveling too fast on the wet pavement and struck a rock wall.
The patrol report says Akins was buckled up, but the child was not in a safety seat.
Akins disputed the patrol”s report.
“I got news for everyone. My child is always buckled in her seat. End of story,” she stated in a Facebook comment.
The crash happened about 10:55 p.m. at Missouri Highway 8.
The Grand Caravan sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
