Timothy Paul Fiehler, passed peacefully into Heaven’s glory on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Tim was born to Robert and Lillian (Schilling) Fiehler, October 20, 1970.
Tim was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, Missouri. His love of God and personal relationship with Jesus was fostered by many but especially through Sunday School with Jeannette Kuehnert and Confirmation instructions with Carolyn Kassulke. He enjoyed music starting as an infant and throughout his life. Tim even learned to play a keyboard and played for a wedding and several Christmas Eve services.
Tim enjoyed growing up in the close-knit community of East Perry County where he was involved in several activities. Tim attended Parkview State School until his graduation at age 21.
He then worked for years at the Sheltered Workshop in Perryville.
In 2009, Tim moved to St. Louis and lived in an Emmaus group home. He worked at a variety of jobs including working at a coffee shop, feeding the homeless, delivering groceries, cleaning a laundromat, cleaning a yoga studio, cleaning churches…he did a lot of cleaning! He was a faithful worker until he declared a few weeks ago “NO WORK!” He then retired. The family is grateful to the Emmaus Homes for their care of Tim.
Tim’s life was full of adventure and his family didn’t see his Down syndrome developmental disabilities as a barrier. He was well-traveled, he enjoyed Cardinals ballgames at Busch Stadium, eating Ted Drewes custard, driving Mildred’s tractor, bowling and skee ball, and celebrating his birthday – everyday! One of his favorite things to do was to dress up in a tuxedo.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents Rudy and Clara Schilling and Joseph and Ida Fiehler, and a nephew Wade Fiehler.
Tim is survived by his brother Gerard Fiehler of Altenburg, Susan Fiehler of St. Louis, Carla (Kent) Grebing of Altenburg, and Ellen (John) Linxwiler of Novi, Michigan. He is also survived by nephews and nieces Jacob (Sarah) Fiehler, Alison (Brian) Funke, Barrett (Chyrsta) Grebing, Nicholas (Sarah) Fiehler, and Ben Linxwiler. He also enjoyed four great nephews and six great nieces. Tim was loved by many uncles and aunts and numerous cousins and friends.
