A funeral will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023 for 81-year-old Janet Marie Dickey of Evansville, Illinois, who passed away at 3:07 p.m., Monday April 24, 2023. She passed away comfortably at Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, Illinois.
She was born January 2, 1942 in Red Bud to Vernon and Roberta (nee Levery) McIntyre along with her twin brother, Gene.
Janet married Alvin Dickey July 15, 1961 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, Illinois. They were the loves of each others lives. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter: Lisa Dickey of Evansville, IL; two grandsons: Dustin (Trisha) Hale and Corey (Paige) Hale; a granddaughter: Breanna Rodriguez; three great grandchildren: Evenlyn, Nathaniel and Mac; a sister-in-law: Donna McIntyre and many family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son: Jeffery, two brothers: Stanley (Toni) and Gene McIntyre and a nephew: Mark.
She was very fun, loving, caring and she was never afraid of hard work. She made everyone feel welcome and her main love was her grandchildren.
She enjoyed volunteering for Toys for Tots and the American Cancer Society.
Janet was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, Illinois.
She will be dearly missed and it will be hard to forget the way she touched each of our lives.
The family would also like to thank everyone at the Randolph County Care Center and the hospice team for the love and care that they provided.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023 and 10-10:45 a.m. Saturday April 29, 2023 at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Evansville, Illinois.
